Sometimes the tenant and landlord has the right to give notice, but they have not agreed how long the notice period should be.
If the landlord and tenant has not agreed upon a different notice period, the notice period is three months. The notice period starts from the first day in the next month after notice was given.
Example: If the tenant gives notice January 1st, the months during the notice period is February, March and April. The tenancy ends April 30th.
There is an exception if the tenant rents a single room, and has the right to use a room in the landlords housing, for example kitchen or bathroom or WC. In this case the notice period is once month, if nothing else is agreed upon. The notice period is from date to date.
