The landlord requires the tenant to move out
Is the landlord requiring you to move out?
It could be several reasons for the landlord requiring the tenant to move out. Below we have highlighted some of the most common situations that can occur.
Unpaid rent?
Have you not paid your rent? If there is an eviction clause in the contract that give enforceable grounds for eviction if you do not pay rent, the landlord can start the eviction process if you do not pay rent. The landlord must first notify you, and give you a 14 day deadline to pay before eviction can be started with assistance from the enforcement officer.
Has the landlord given their notice to terminate?
Has the landlord given a valid notice to terminate the tenancy, which you have not objected to, but you have still not moved out despite the notice period having expired? If so, the landlord can start the process for eviction, if there are enforceable grounds in the contract.

If the landlord ask you to move out because the landlord needs the residence, the landlord must first give notice to terminate the tenancy. You have the right to live in the residence until the notice period has expired.
The tenant cannot evict you unless there has already been given a valid notice and the notice period has expired, if you owe rent and have not paid after having received notification about eviction, or if there is grounds for terminating the contract with immediate effect.
